JudithCARTERJudith Avril Carter passed away December 16, 2025, aged 79. Born in Aruba, Netherlands West Indies she spent most of her life in Guisborough and was the beloved daughter of Margaret and Frederick Carter, a dearly loved sister to Christine Watson, and a much-loved auntie to Simon, Lucy, Adam and Nicholas, and great auntie to Finn and Olive. Known affectionately as "AJ" (short for Auntie Judith) by her nieces and nephews, Judith spent many years working in Guisborough at Leemings Chemist, followed by several years at LLoyd's Chemist on Acklam Road. She had a great love of travel, visiting her sister and family in Canada, always arriving-and departing-with a suitcase full of treats. She also travelled extensively in Europe with her much-loved mother and was an enthusiastic and thoughtful planner when family came to visit from Canada, organising memorable day trips, including picnics on the moors, as well as longer adventures exploring the UK. An active member of St Nicholas' Anglican Church in Guisborough until ill health prevented her attendance, Judith will be fondly remembered for her love of colour (especially purple), fresh flowers, a hot cup of tea and a biscuit, her cat Lily, her cozy flat, a good steak and kidney pie, and, most of all, her family and friends. There will be no service, but please think of Judith when you see daffodils this spring. Any donations in lieu of flowers, and in Judith's memory, may be made to St Nicholas Church Funds, Guisborough.
